Management Zone Soil Sampling

Management zone sampling is also a specialty of ours. We have the equipment, personnel, and experience to handle any amount of management zone sampling acres you have. We do all sampling using GPS equipped ATV's, and process all fertility maps in-house so they can be customized to each clients needs. Each field's maps are put in a fertility book, along with printouts for each nutrient tested that explains some characteristics of that nutrient and how it reacts in the soil. How a field is sampled by Management Zones...

To sample a field using management zones, the first thing we will do is create the management zones.  By using the field's soil types, topography, previous fertility program and previous yield data we are able to create zones from which we sample from.  From each zone (shown below) we take 10-12 soil cores which make up 1 sample.  We then send the samples to the laboratory of your choice.  Once we receive the results back from the laboratory we map the results using SMS, and work with you to come up with recommendations that suit your fertility program and if needed we can put together a variable rate map for any type of applicator.  Management zones work well with our Precision Profits program, we can overlay planting and yield data over your management zones and look to see if any of the zones are lacking and if so what can we do to improve them.
