Grid Sampling

Grid Sampling is our specialty. We have the equipment, personnel, and experience to handle any amount of grid sampling acres you have. We do all sampling using GPS equipped ATV's, and process all fertility maps in-house so they can be customized to each clients needs. Whether you need sampling for MMPs or VRT application, we can sample by any grid size you desire. Each field's maps are put in a fertility book, along with printouts for each nutrient tested that explains some characteristics of that nutrient and how it reacts in the soil. How a field is Grid Sampled...

To begin sampling a field by grids, the operator drives around the boundary of the field with an ATV equipped with GPS. The computer is logging the boundary while it is being driven. The completed field boundary will show on the computer screen with the exact acres within the field.  The computer will then ask which size of grids to divide the field into. This particular field was sampled using 4.4 acre grids. The computer equipped with GPS will guide the operator to each sample location within the field, where a sample is taken and sent into the lab for analyzing. The sample consists of taking many cores in a radius around each sample point. Once the soil is analyzed, the results are imported into our GIS program and fertility maps are generated.  The following maps are some examples of the grid sampling method.
